Panch Phoran Spice Mix

Panch Phoran is a blend of above 5 whole spices that are toasted.  They give the give the dish a wonderful spicy crunch of 5 different flavors.

Ingredients (whole seeds)

  • coriander...................................1 tsp
  • fennel........................................1 tsp
  • cumin........................................1 tsp
  • fennugreek................................1 tsp
  • kalonji........................................1 tsp

Instructions:

Fry 1/2 tsp of panch phoran in ghee or olive oil until golden brown.
And then continue with the recipe.

Note:

Great in poha, sauteed veggies, kitchery dishes, frying fish or chicken, fried paneer etc.
